“The pandemic showed us once and for all the need to solve worker retention issues through automation. Working with PLAN IT brought in the early step of bagging automation that feeds into our roboticized pouch-to-box multi-lane production system. The bagging system requires 3 people compared to 25 when we packed manually.”
Watch also as PLAN IT Senior Technician Rick Neill demonstrates how easily the 14 head Mars ComPak 2-in-1 scale and bagging system changes over in less than 10 minutes from one bag size to another. Over 30 recipes are stored in the HMI that controls both the scale and bagging components of the system. Multiple forming tubes allow for efficient forming and flattening of bags in the filling, sealing and cutting station of the bagger.
